The 2014 India Development Marketplace Has Launced
We at the Development Marketplace are pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2014 India Development Marketplace that will provide up to US$1 million in grant funding to innovative social entrepreneurs who offer solutions to the most pressing social, environmental, and economic problems.
This year, the Development Marketplace is focusing on the low-income states of Assam, Mizoram, and Meghalaya in the Northeast region of India. Approximately ten social entrepreneurs who have developed innovative business models that successfully address service delivery problems in these areas will be awarded up to US$150,000 in grant funding. Winners will also be awarded various capaicty development programs, provided by local partners, that are tailored to each grantee's specific needs. The DM will contribute analytical work, evaluations, faster dialouges between ivestors and governments, and will distribute lessons learned from other non-state actors.
