The topic for this year’s competition is “Innovations to Fight HIV/AIDS’’ with the sub-themes of:

  • Delivering the message: We would like to hear your innovative ideas on how to:  (i) raise public awareness of and responsibility to the epidemic and (ii) combat stigma and discrimination to ensure social inclusion for people living with HIV.
  • Protecting our young generation: Creative ideas could include those addressing educating young people about HIV, encouraging them to become responsible for their sexual and reproductive health, introducing incentives to engage in safe behavior and improving their ability to make informed choices.
  • Counseling and care for HIV infected people: There is a growing need for before and post- HIV testing counseling. Emerging issues include: universal precautions in health care services which take into account communication with health staff ; integration of HIV and tuberculosis treatment; ethics issues related to HIV counseling and treatment with an emphasis on ensuring privacy protection and rights of counseling seekers.
