Better Governance and Accountability with Innovative Ideas
Albania Development Marketplace is a competitive grant programme, administered by the World Bank Office in Tirana and the British Council Albania that identifies and funds innovative projects with high potential for development impact. The competition attracts projects from a range of innovators, including grass-roots civil society groups and academic institutions. Its main focus is on good governance and accountability.
This competition offers a unique opportunity to turn an innovative idea for better governance and accountability into reality.
Project proposals are expected to contribute to any of the following sub-themes:

Accountability and transparency at the national and local level;

Empowerment of interest groups (or advocacy groups);

Anti-corruption activities;

Civic education; public access to information;

Economic governance;

National policies dialogue;

Participatory national and local budgeting;

Transparency and oversight over the use of budgetary resources;

Inclusion of civil society monitoring in public procurement;

Participatory processes on prioritization of local public investments;

Monitoring of public service delivery.
