Approaches

WBI takes a programmatic approach to capacity development.  Each thematic program uses a mix of four main business lines to address countries' capacity development needs.
Innovation for Development
WBI provides platforms for nurturing and sharing innovative practical solutions to development challenges.
Knowledge Exchange
WBI facilitates sharing of information and experiences among development practitioners and policymakers.
Leadership Development
WBI supports decision-makers and emerging leaders who are looking for innovative solutions to tough development challenges.
Structured Learning
Courses, workshops, and conferences help clients such as government officials, private sector managers, and civil society organizations develop skills and address capacity constraints in priority sectors or disciplines.
WBI also supports its programs through these approaches.
Capacity Development and Results Monitoring
WBI helps monitor and asses the results of capacity development programs for greater effectiveness.
Development Marketplace
Development Marketplace is a competitive grant program that identifies and funds innovative, early-stage projects with high potential for development impact.
Partnerships
WBI has ongoing partnerships with a wide range of organizations.
Scholarships
WBI’s Scholarship and Fellowships Programs are vehicles for knowledge sharing and capacity building in the developing world.
South-South Learning
WBI's South-South Learning initiatives include hosting a platform that fosters a dynamic community of South-South learning professionals.
