Alasdair Wardhaugh

United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID)

Alasdair Wardhaugh leads the International Aid Transparency Initiative Secretariat. He is also currently the United Kingdom Department for International Development's (DFID's) Aid Transparency Leader.

Since joining the DFID in 1993, he has worked as the First Secretary Economic and Development in Zambia, the Head of Country Programmes in DFID’s European Union Department, the Deputy Head of Middle East and North Africa Department, and Private Secretary to the DFID Minister of State from 2008-2010. Mr Wardhaugh was also an EU Development Policy Adviser to the Irish Department for Foreign Affairs in 2004. 

Born in Scotland, Mr. Wardhaugh graduated in law at the University of Strathclyde.
