James Deane

BBC World Service Trust

James Deane is Head of Policy at the BBC World Service Trust (BBC WST). He joined them in 2007.

In addition to leading the BBC WST's work on policy, Mr. Deane directs the Trust’s multi-year, United Kingdom Department for International Development's (DFID's)-funded Policy and Research Programme on the Role of Media and Communication in Development.

Prior to joining the BBC WST, he was a founding member and later Executive Director of the Panos Institute, London.

James holds a Masters in International Communications and Development from City University.
