WBI Health Systems Practice

Joy de Beyer, a health economist, has worked at the World Bank for over 20 years. Some of her past projects include health and education in Africa, global anti-smoking policies, and HIV/AIDS response. As part of the WBI's Health Systems Strengthening Practice, she is part of a core team that works on health content for the long-standing reproductive health course.

Ms. deBeyer completed her doctorate in Health Economics at Oxford University. She has also tutored at Oxford and taught at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (South Africa), and at the University of California, San Diego Medical School.
