Kurt Larsen

WBI Growth and Competitiveness Practice

Kurt Larsen is a senior education specialist in WBI’s Growth and Competitiveness Practice, and currently coordinator of the Skills and Innovation Policy Cluster which does capacity building in education, skills development, innovation policy, and the knowledge economy.

Before joining the World Bank Institute, Kurt was a senior analyst at the Centre for Educational Research and Innovation at the Organization of Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD) where he did policy research on education and trade; knowledge management in the education sector, and the internationalization of tertiary education.

He worked for more than 10 years on education, research, and social welfare policies in the Danish Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the DanishPrime Minister’s Office.

Kurt is a Danish national and holds a master’s degree in human geography and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Aarhus University in Denmark, as well as an international degree in Public Administration from the École Nationale d’Administration in Paris.
