Saloshini Muthayan

PALAMA
Dr Muthayan is Head of Branch for International and Special Projects responsible for PALAMA’s strategic international partnerships, donor relations and South-South knowledge exchange programs. During her four years at Palama she has conceptualized, designed and implemented a joint capacity building project with post conflict countries (Rwanda, Burundi and Southern Sudan) and a knowledge exchange partnership with India and Brazil for harnessing innovative best practices in management and leadership for improved service delivery. During this period she raised $75 million for donor funded projects.
 

Earlier in her career, Dr Muthayan designed and implemented the rationalization of 24 colleges of education; capacity developed the Government of Nepal to review and rewrite their national school curriculum and evaluated the £30m DfID project to improve provincial and district management in South Africa. She has also worked in the NGO sector where she was involved in the introduction of Early Childhood Development into the government education system in South Africa. Areas of expertise include innovative project design, research and policy development, curriculum development, strategic planning, institutional building and evaluation and people networks.

Dr Muthayan’s community service includes having served as a local government councilor of Buffalo City Municipality and on the governing bodies of Rhodes University and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.
