Available Now: Case Studies on What Works in Knowledge Exchange

Knowledge exchange programs are now at the forefront of the development agenda. But how do we know how effective they are in meeting countries’ needs?

In the new report, Using Knowledge Exchange for Capacity Development: What Works in Global Practice? the Korea Development Institute and WBI assess three South-South knowledge exchange programs using WBI’s results-focused methodology.

The results highlight lessons for the design and management of knowledge exchange programs, including ways to:

  • Respond to the demands of the partner country to better target the knowledge exchange
  • Ensure local ownership and commitment to the reform process
  • Strategically select participants on the demand and supply sides of the knowledge exchange
  • Promote and sustain cross-country and within-country interactions

The study’s findings will provide input to the proceedings at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Korea.
