To provide urban practitioners with an integrated understanding of urbanization issues and practical experience from good and bad practices around the world, WBI launched this e-learning pilot course in early 2011.

Given the need for urgent action and to ensure coordination between stakeholders,the World Bank, Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, together with other partners, organized a World Reconstruction Conference on May 10-13, 2011.

Municipalities and public utility companies in South-East European cities are keen to integrate new solutions and learn from relevant experiences elsewhere. They approached the World Bank and Austrian government to support their training and capacity building.
